Before you submit, here's what to expect: why journals register with SCILEX, what we require at minimum, and how the evaluation moves from submission to decision. Registration takes about 15–20 minutes; the review itself is what takes the time, and we do it properly.
A SCILEX record is a public claim we stand behind, backed by a documented review rather than a self-reported listing.
Listed journals appear in a directory authors and institutions use to judge where to submit and where to trust what they read.
Track every stage of your review in real time, and know exactly why a decision was reached, with rationale included.
These are checked first, at the Eligibility stage. Missing any one of them will stop the submission until it's fixed, so it's worth confirming them before you start the form.
Stages 1 and 3 are pass/fail gates; Stage 2 is scored. You'll get a tracking code the moment you submit, and email updates as your journal moves through each stage.
Mandatory-requirements gate, either pass or fail.
Seven points scored 0–14, threshold ≥ 10.
Integrity gate checked against open data.
Listed as Indexed, Conditional, or Rejected.
One appeal within 30 days if rejected.
