Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find what you're looking for? Send us a message using the form above and we'll get back to you.

01How long does the review process take?

There's no fixed deadline since reviewers are volunteers, but most submissions move through Eligibility, Quality Assessment, and Integrity checks within a few weeks. You can follow progress at any time from Track Progress using your tracking code.

02What happens if my journal is rejected?

You'll receive an email with the rationale behind the decision. You may file one appeal within 30 days if you believe the process wasn't followed correctly — see the Appeal Policy for details.

03What does "Conditionally Indexed" mean?

It means your journal meets the core criteria but has specific, correctable issues flagged by the committee. Once you address them and resubmit the required corrections, your journal can move to full indexing.

04Can I edit my submission after sending it?

Not directly through the form. Contact us with your tracking code and the details you'd like to correct, and the coordinator will update it on your behalf before assessment begins.

05Is there a fee to register or get indexed?

No. SCILEX does not charge journals to submit, be assessed, or be listed in the directory.

06How do I check my submission status?

Use the tracking code you received by email on the Track Progress page. You'll also get an automatic email update every time your submission's status changes.

07Who reviews my submission?

Each submission is scored independently by committee reviewers who don't see one another's assessments. Anyone with a conflict of interest is automatically recused, and that recusal is recorded.
